MIAMI -- The new Parrot Jungle is having a hard time paying its bills, and because of an agreement with the county, so far Miami-Dade is having to pick up the multimillion-dollar tab.

BIRD lovers were shocked by the sight of some surprise visitors to their feeding day in Canons Park - a group of bright green parrots.
The rare ring-necked parakeets, which are the UK's only naturalised parrot species, are part of an estimated flock of thirteen which have been sighted intermittently in the Edgware area for the last two years.

Parrots shocked, 1 dead
Fort Lauderdale firefighters responding to a call about a power outage on Wednesday afternoon instead found nine Quaker parrots that appeared to have been suffered from electrical shock after a power line arced and snapped in a neighborhood west of the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard and Federal Highway.

OLD SAYBROOK - It was a job for the birds - literally.
A Connecticut Light & Power Company crew did a little maintenance on a pair of large stick nests atop telephone poles on Bridge Street near the causeway, so a colony of monk parrots wouldn't see their home go up in flames.
